What is reflexology..?

Reflexology is a complementary holistic therapy which treats the whole person, rather than just a symptom or disorder. Reflexology supports and is complementary to orthodox medical treatments. A good reflexology treatment is deeply relaxing and allows tension to ebb out of the entire body. It is not just a foot massage, it is so much more; it stimulates the blood to circulate more freely bringing oxygen and essential nutrients to the body cells, lymphatic circulation is improved to help carry toxins out of the body and bolster the immune system, muscles relax and stress is relieved.

A reflexology treatment starts with general foot relaxation, followed by finger and thumb pressure techniques across the entire foot to treat the entire person and so restore balance.

Why the feet…?

Your feet are amazing! Each foot contains 26 bones, plus thousands of nerve endings and over a hundred ligaments. Despite being ‘trampled on’ your feet are amongst the most sensitive parts of your body and so are the best place for reflexology treatments. A reflexologist sees the whole body reflected onto the soles of the feet and so during the reflexology treatment, all of the body systems are stimulated and treated.

Swedish Massage…..

Swedish massage is renowned for its ability to promote relaxation and well-being through a variety of techniques. Effleurage, with its long, soothing strokes, helps to relax the muscles and stimulate blood circulation. Petrissage goes deeper, targeting muscle and connective tissues to ease tension and knots. Tapotement, a rhythmic tapping, energizes and tones the muscles while also boosting circulation. Lastly, friction and vibration techniques work to break down stubborn knots and adhesions, providing relief from stress and injury. This holistic approach to bodywork ensures a comprehensive treatment that addresses both physical and mental stress and tension.
